Scripture Union Daily Guide 19 September 2026 Outline
Today’s passage deals with last days event. Satan, the dragon mentioned in Revelation 12:9 brings on board two beasts to promote his activities (Revelation 13:1,2,11). Note the activities of the first beast (from the sea) – Antichrist to stop the worship of the true God through political and economic influences. He represents the great world government. How does he achieve his purpose see Revelation 13:16-17?
Notice the second beast with two horns, like a lamb (harmless) but speaks as a dragon (fierce and dangerous). He comes to enhance the activities of the first beast (Revelation 13:12). See his mission in Revelation 13:13-16. He represents the false prophet to influence the religious sector (Deuteronomy 13:1-3 and 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12).
This is the false prophet also mentioned in Revelations 19:20; Revelation 20:10; Daniel 9:27 – probably his portrait would be placed in the temple of God to be worshipped. Note what is said in Revelation 13:18b. God allows Satan a period of grace to do his worst, but He is fully in charge. This should encourage the faithful Christian to persevere and endure to the end (Mark 13:13).
